This is IntelliSpace product line,

Clinical care, and decision support, made accessible

Project Overview

Patient monitoring is the core of data collection, without this, rest all ancillary support can fall flat. The task at hand was to better the user experience, propose features while also designing a platform solution for these offerings.

There are three products under this umbrella which I worked on,

  1. Intellispace Consultive Critical Care

  2. Intellispace Critical Care Anesthesia

  3. Acute Care Suite

My Role

  • Contributing to product requirements

  • Planning and interfacing with Development team and other stakeholders

  • Feedbacks to Design Systems

Team Setup

  • 2 UX Designers

  • 2 Product Managers

  • 2 Clinical Experts

  • 2 to 3 Front-end Developers

  • 8 to 12 Back-end Developers

Project Duration

  • The product runs of Agile development methodologies.

  • It has bi-weekly internal release cycles.

  • I've worked dedicatedly on three products within this product Suite.

Context

IntelliSpace falls under

Clinical Informatics which houses the Patient Monitoring umbrella.

This is targeted at developing several products which aim at gathering, organizing and restructuring patient data and presenting it to the user in a meaningful way that helps decision making and clinical support.

PRODUCTS

As mentioned, there are three product within this umbrella which I worked on.

On this page we look at ICCA.

IntelliSpace Critical Care & Anesthesia (ICCA)

OBJECTIVES

The objective for me was to relook at the older Philips' EMR application, include in it new user feedback and make it conform to the new design guidelines.

This not only meant changing the basic components and their colors, but also changing the navigation patterns, patient cards, banners, etc.

CHALLENGES

Since I entered midway within this project, initial challenge was to get on pace with the requirements and the process.

Since ICCA was a data heavy application, it meant collaborating more with the design language team with the requirements of multiple items.

Given the yearly development cycle for the project, balancing out the user feedback with the current planned backlog was also a challenge.

USERS

The following are the users for ICCA. Since it is an application focussed at care-givers, the user base can be segmented into,

The primary user for ICCA is the Nurse, and the Head Nurse.

The secondary user of ICCA data is the Physician and the Admin.
