This is Scan&Go
Bringing CT Scanning at your fingertips

APPROACH
Every business line product might have a slightly or largely different development process. The below is the abstract process that is followed for Scan&Go.

EXECUTION
DESIGN FOR FEATURES
When I took up the project, there were a dozen features in the backlog, waiting to be designed and developed for. This was my first task. Each feature was brought in from the clinical experts.
Below is the series of screens for Scan&Go, for which me and a colleague were responsible to design and develop the front end.
USER RESEARCH
In parallel, with what the pandemic permitted, the UX research team conducted a series of user research across various parts of the world demographics.

The picture on the left talks about some of the research which was undertaken for this project.
One of my tasks within the research framework was to shadow the users with how they perform the scan. This was done at several instances during the product development cycle. This was done both in-person, and online.
Primary research was also conducted in India, China, Netherlands.
Pertaining to the usability study. I was the moderator for the tests while also jotting down the research questions about some of the design decisions that I wanted to verify.
Following this was the documenting of the research.
Research Reports
Following are some images which demonstrate the research findings from one of the usability which I moderated and wrote research questions for.
WORKFLOW
The product and its data architecture is a legacy system. It represented the linear workflow which was envisioned at the time. However, my proposal was to leverage the things we know about the patient and the user, and to break this linearity in the workflow, as demonstrated below.
Proposed Workflow
The resultant of questioning the need for a linearity in the workflow, led to this video on the left.
Here, it is imagined that the scanner is aware of which patient is coming up and prepares the scan protocol accordingly gathering data from the EMRs or RIS (radiology information system), and is also configured to send the data to the PACS.
Existing Workflow
The existing workflow on the right demonstrates the latest product release. The testing mentioned above is done on this workflow and feature development is also done for this workflow.
My role is in designing for these features, partake in the usability testing, FE development, documentation and aspects of planning with the dev team and the product team.
I also convey the user requirements to the design language team for development of new components.
Device Agnostic
The screens above have been targeting a tablet form factor. The next task is to port this UI onto a larger desktop screen-size, and also a smaller mobile form factor. All to be touch-friendly.
